One current application is for a religious broadcast network. The broadcast consists typically of a taped program that is physically delivered to the Echostar™ transmission facilty for broadcast at 2 a.m once per week. DTMF command tones are placed on the tape header and these are tranmitted as part of the audio channel at the beginning of the program. At each remote site the MediaMagic PCD receives the DTMF tones from the satellite receiver audio output and converts them to Sony Control S commands. Each Sony VCR at each receive site is turned on, set to record, stop, and finally eject so that a taped record of the broadcast is available to the congregation the next morning.
